Pirelli Calendar 2008 Behind The Scenes

It's been a while since I did not post any news on the blog.

Not that I've forgotten all you people out there but since my return to Portugal things have come a little out of hand concerning time and blogging.

A lot of work to be done and time flies...

Not to mention that I'm now converted to Macintosh (MacBookPro 2.5 with 4Gb) because my old HP PC, one of these nights, had a power failure leaving me with no computer for some days, so consider me another converted to Mac :)

I haven't lost anything since the disk is still running I think it was a power surge because the sucker won't give me any life signs.

Anyway I had it full backed up and you...?

I'm preparing another good article about one really useful tool that should be in everyone's bag... but more on this on my next post ;)

So I leave you all with a great 2 part video from Behind the Scenes of the Pirelli Calendar 2008 shooting with Patrick Demarchelier.

After the jump enjoy it...

Part 1

Part 2

My BIG thanks to SharpForMen magazine for sponsoring the videos.

In the two videos I only saw he uses mainly reflectors.
No flash whatsoever. May be some strobes at night ...
The man is using Hasselblad and Canon so it seems, with some assistants as usual.
The ambiance in the temples is not seen in the final pictures and I think he took advantage of the reflected light, which is in fact very soft and difused in there.

I also noticed that the shots at night didn't reflect the neon lights, which were apparently, nearby.

Probably he was using some strobes then ...

I was just looking as here I can't listen.

And Rui: congrats for the new Mac.
Now you will be able to see the pictures in detail on the spot !
